Position Overview

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the day to day and monthly accounting activities for the company and subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• BS Accounting, Finance or equivalent

• Proficient in financial modeling

• Proficient with Intuit Quickbooks, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word

• Comfortable with technology / software / working a digital environment

Minimum of 5 years experience as an accountant in a corporate environment

• Must be a self-starter who does not require a large staff to do the “grunt work” – every sovaSage employee digs in and gets the job done without a staff of helpers

• Adaptable to changing priorities and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment

• Must be flexible and comfortable with uncertainty

• Comfortable with and productive working from home office

• A team player who shows respect to all stakeholders, internal or external Key

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the accurate and timely management of month end closes and preparing appropriate financial reports

2. Responsible for updating the cash balance spreadsheet daily and the balance sheet reconciliations monthly

3. Responsible for accounts payable, including coordinating approvals, issuing payments, collecting I9s, etc.

4. Responsible for accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, dealing with customer questions, etc.

5. Responsible for receiving, recording and depositing customer payments

6. Responsible for reviewing accounts receivable balances and responsible for collections of any past due amounts

7. Responsible for managing company payroll, including coordination of sales bonuses/commissions, payroll reimbursements, monitoring overtime and PTO

8. Responsible for registering in states when new employees are hired

9. Provide needed reports and information for financial audits and company tax preparation

10. Responsible for weekly and monthly cash reconciliation

11. Works with CFO on annual 409a valuation

12. Works with COO on the various state and local tax and company filings

13. State Sales Tax – review throughout the year to ensure state compliance; evaluate future programs to automate

14. Other duties as requested from the CFO or COO

Work Environment

Full time position, often requiring more than the standard 40-hour work week. Work can and will happen from home office, company office as well as including significant travel when necessary.
